New teachers at WSI Hanover

Hannah Muehlnickel

Hannah originally comes from Winchester in the south of England. She has always had a passion for the German language and culture, partly due to her German granddad. She always knew that she wanted to study German and one day live in Germany. During her studies she worked as an English teacher for EADS in Augsburg for a year and very much enjoyed the Bavarian lifestyle. Just weeks after finishing her studies in July 2007, she came back to Germany. This time she decided to experience the northern lifestyle in Hanover, where her German boyfriend lives. In her free time she enjoys meeting up with friends, swimming and exploring the rest of Germany.

Ruaidhri O’Bolguidhir

Ruaidhri comes from Wexford in Ireland. He has studied Furniture Conservation and Restoration and before that studied Archaeology and Old Irish Language in Dublin. Ruaidhri lived for two years in Rome, in Italy, where he first taught English as a foreign Language. Ruaidhri came to Niedersachen as an Erasmus student for one semester in 2006 and the attraction of barbeques and German beer was too strong for him to stay away.

Karen Degenhardt

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I spent my first few years there. Unfortunately my family had to move to Germany where I spent most of my youth. After receiving my Masters in Geography in Germany, I decided to move back to the US where I spent several years in the beautiful City of Charleston, South Carolina. As much as I loved it there, I missed my family and came back to Germany. Nowadays my biggest challenge is raising my two year old daughter. Working for WSI in a multicultural, English-speaking environment is just what I’ve been looking for. See you soon in our school.

Nick Jones

After spending the first 23 years of his life in England Nick decided it was time to see a little of the world. His travels took him through New York, Glasgow and London before he finally settled in Hanover Germany. After concluding his High School Diploma he began studying English and German at Hanover university and hopes to conclude his Bachelor degree by the end of 2007. Nick’s biggest passions are playing and watching football, he also likes listening to music and socialising with friends.

Cristiana Zachau

Cristiana joined the Wall Street team shortly after moving to Germany from Toronto, Canada. Cristiana is both a stage director and a teacher of English, having practiced both teaching and directing throughout the years. She has recently concluded her university studies with an MFA degree in Stage-Directing, Theatre from York University, Toronto. During her studies, she has allowed herself to fall in love with a German man and has followed her love all the way to Hanover. Here, she is having a lot of fun teaching at Wall Street, learning German, making new friends and exploring her new country of residence. Cristiana’s other love is Theatre, which she plans to pursue in Hanover as well. Photography, travelling, reading, sailing and hiking are her favourite descriptions of leisure time.
