geriatric1927 = superstar!

Geriatric1927 (or just Peter) is the new superstar over there at youtube.com.
Usually the stuff you see at youtube.com is some sort of fancy, crazy selfmade videoclips from kids & students all around the world. Well, Peter also did just that but it's a totally new approach: Peter is 79 years old!

If this news alone isn't funny enough, the very interesting effect that followed was that after his 1st clip release, the people started to listen to this guy from the UK and taking him very seriously.

Now, Peter is creating his personal diary clips and is telling his story of life - and the world is listening! The first video from geriatric1927 alone had download rate from 1.5 million people!

Peter, welcome to the internet and keep up your stories!

It´s a bird! It´s a plane! It´s Superman!

Do these sentences sound familiar? We have good news for you: SUPERMAN RETURNS - really!
I saw SUPERMAN RETURNS back in June and was completely blown away. I had read a review a couple of days before that said that even though the movie is two and a half hours long you won't feel the need to look at your watch. Conscious of this I almost wanted to look at my watch right away but less than ten minutes into the film, I forgot I even had a watch and the next thing I knew, the movie was over.

From the opening credits which are done almost exactly like the original movie from 1978 you are instantly removed from reality. Using the original music was one of the smartest things they could have done, it's far too iconic to have a Superman movie without it. The actors are of course new but have no problems living up to and in some cases surpassing the original cast.

The movie has a great story; a perfect way of reviving a hero that everyone has grown up with without retelling or bastardizing it. The action is well paced and choreographed; the original will always be great, for nostalgia if nothing else, but the moments of intense peril in this movie blow all those previous incarnations out of the water.

The humor is subtle and effective, some very funny moments without treading into campy territory. The love story is strong and effective though not new (Loise & Clark anyone?) The acting is great on every level. To make it short - the movie is worth a visit. Our advice - try to see the movie in its original (non-synchronised) version!

Our rating: 4 out of 5 stars!

Directed by Bryan Singer
Starring: Brandon Routh, Kate Bowsworth and Kevin Spacey

Our article for the Wall Street Reporter

Hi, our names are Claudia, Frank and Jianban and we are students at WSI Hanover.

We really enjoy studying here, as the staff are so friendly and helpful; they are always available, even outside of structured activities. We enjoy talking and joking, we think this makes English interesting and fun.

The school is very flexible to our needs, so we can work when it is convenient for us.

There are a lot of communication classes which are excellent and help us to speak in a relaxed and realistic environment.

Two of our favourite social club activities are the reading club which takes place at a local café, and our own WSI4U.de web site, which is created for the students, by the students and always has new and interesting information.

Wall Street Hanover is situated in downtown Hanover, and is close to all public transport, so it is easy to reach for all students.

Hanover hosts many international trade fairs, and recently had a lot of international visitors due to the World Cup Football.

We are famous for our beautiful green areas, especially Eilenriede (a small forest in the city)
and the Herrenhauser gardens with its royal gardens which are original baroque gardens over 300 years old.

We have many festivals and the biggest Schutzenfest in the world!

Not far from Hanover is Steinhudermeer, the largest lake in lower Saxony, this is an important area for nature conservation and relaxing in your spare time swimming, sailing, walking or cycling are all popular here.

Our new Town Hall has many interesting models of Hanover through it’s growth, development and history since the 10th century. It also has an amazing slanting lift that takes you up to a viewing deck where you can see the whole city.

The Hanover zoo (founded in 1865) has a lot of authentic settings where you can view the animals. They have a very successful breeding programme, every spring we wait to see what new babies will arrive.

So, if you are ever in Hanover why not come in and say Hello.
